I am a journalist and graphic designer from Huntsville, Alabama.

THE CRIMSON WHITE
For most of my college career I worked in multiple roles for The Crimson White, the semiweekly student-led newspaper of The University of Alabama, a state school of 38,000 students. My duties included designing newspages, delegating responsibilities to other employees, leading production nights, writing stories, managing content and eventually leading the entire newspaper as editor-in-chief.

WVUA 23 NEWS
I held a position in the digital department of WVUA 23 News, Tuscaloosa's only commercial television station, for three years. My primary duties were to rewrite newscast segments as stories for the website, using AP Style, extra sound for quotes and deeper research to enrich the content. I also designed some graphics for TV, worked on my own side stories and led writing workshops for broadcast interns.

I volunteered and held paid positions in this scholastic journalism nonprofit's three annual initiatives: fall regional workshops, state convention/competition and two summer camps. Over four years, I have designed event programs, taught classes around the state, oversaw judging for the state competition, planned programming and co-directed the two summer camps held at the University of Alabama.
